Sacramento 311 operates 24/7/365. They’re busier during the day. To minimize your time on hold, you may try calling later in the evening if you need to speak with an operator.
If you can submit pictures of your issue to 311, your response time from the responding department will generally be quicker.
We highly recommend taking notes on the complaints you submit to 311 as they can be very useful in following up with designated departments in the event that your request wasn’t forwarded correctly. This can and does happen, so plan for it. We also recommend noting the full 311 reference number assigned to your request and asking the operator specifically which department your request is being routed to.
